Uncharted Teas

Tea is beautiful.

There may be those who disagree with me; pay no heed to them. Douglas Adams says of tea, “Americans never understand the English obsession with tea because they have never had a good cup of tea.” I failed to appreciate the full force of this statement until I read further to where he elucidates: “The thing is, if you put the water on top of the tea when the water is anything less than boiling, it makes insipid tea. The Americans have insipid tea and think, ‘why do the English like this so much?’ and the answer is, we don’t like insipid tea.”

Eager to assess the level of increase to which my tea enjoyment could be subject, I rushed to follow his directions. Let me tell you, it’s true. I thought I liked tea before I read those words…. in reality it was but a shadow and a thought that I loved.
