I overheard some poor math major today:

Wow, I finally got my Writing Competency Requirement paper back today. I turned it in about two years ago.

The Writing Competency Requirement is necessary to graduate from Biola. This poor guy had to wait two years for his paper to get graded, only to find out he got a B- on it when he needed a B. For his sake I hope he’s graduating in May and not December.

In the face of such staggering incapability, my response is a mixture of two things: (0) an urge to lift up my voice in lamentation, covering my head with ashes and (1) an urge to fashion a whip out of Cat5 cable and cleanse the McNally building.

I turned in my WCR paper seven months ago and haven’t heard a thing. I hope to graduate in six months, but I suppose I shouldn’t get my hopes up. It wouldn’t be the first time the department has let me down.
