a lot like Christmas

Since we planned to be in Southern California for Christmas, we began our Christmas celebrations with Phil’s family on the 24th.  We headed down to Graham where his aunt, uncle, and grandmother live, and had a lovely time of fellowship and food with them there.  Noah got to experience his first attempt at opening presents.  It was kind of funny to watch him since he’s used to NOT tearing things, and encouraging him to do so made me feel like I was going against my mommy’s better judgment.  He figured it out though, and was thoroughly spoiled.  Just check out the loot:

He also was able to share a surprise with Grandpa!

After presents, we had a traditional Christmas feast. Noah was enjoying himself so much that he decided to eat his food with his eyes closed.

That evening, we headed to the airport to catch our flight to San Diego to hang out with my family. Our flight was very delayed, but this just ensured that Noah slept through almost all of the trip. It was really nice.

The Broach family spent Christmas morning just having some family devotions since we planned to give money to charity instead of giving to each other.  In the afternoon, we had the more extended family over to celebrate Noah’s big ONE year!  He got to open even more presents.  Lots of really cute clothes and toys.  Grandma and Grandpa also got him some fun crawl tubes that he really enjoyed.

Grandma also hand-made an ice cream cake for Noah’s birthday, which was quite a feat and amazingly yummy.

Noah quite enjoyed himself. Happy Birthday precious one!
